The Bamyan Alpine Ski Club skiers were active members of the ski community for a number of years and organised the Afghan Peaks ski races in 2022, 2023 and 2024. They have also been involved in producing wooden skis for children and training children to ski. The event has been covered in the international media, such as this article, and in a new documentary film, Champions of the Golden Valley, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June 2024!
The club is more than just about skiing, it is about supporting a sporting community in Bamyan that has been active for over a decade. This community gives purpose and hope to the youth of the villages and valleys of Bamyan.
Your contributions will directly support the infrastructure and participants of the Bamyan Alpine Ski Club.

No. The BSC was active from 2011 and was the first ski club in Afghanistan. It stopped activities in Afghanistan in 2021. The BASC was founded by many of the same skiers who used to be members of the BSC. The BASC aims to build on the pioneering work done by the BSC.
Currently it is forbidden for Afghan women to ski in Afghanistan. However, the BASC wants to be a club that everyone can join. Contact Afghan Peaks at info@afghanpeaks.org for more details about how they do this.
